Sottil: "Milan fan since I was a kid. I hope to meet Kakà"

Interviewed by the club's official channel, in the new episode of Face-Off , Riccardo Sottil , new Milan player, told his story like this. Here are all his statements.

If he ever received a Milan shirt as a gift as a child : "I've been a Milan fan since I was little. My parents used to buy it for me when we went to the shops. Even my father, when he played, once brought me Ricardo Kakà's shirt. It was signed, too, I still have it at home. I've never met Kakà, let's see if he happens to be here in Milan. Let's hope we catch him."

On his Instagram bio and the meaning of the crucifix and the star : "The crucifix because I'm a religious guy, my whole family is. Especially my grandparents. The star is a symbol that I like, bright, I combined it with the cross."

If he imagined he could become a footballer like his father : "I grew up with football. When my father took me to training I wanted to be with him, in the locker room with the adults. A passion that you can have inside you from birth. My goal has always been to play football and, one day, to be able to play at a professional level".

On his idol : "As a kid, when I started watching matches and videos on YouTube, I always liked Cristiano Ronaldo. He drove me crazy when he played for Manchester United, in that role. He made incredible plays, he immediately won the Ballon d'Or despite his young age. Then he is a great athlete, a symbol, an example for football. I grew up a bit with him".

On the impact he had with Sergio Conceicao : "Very positive impact, he made a great impression on me. He knows what he wants, he is very direct, and I appreciate that a lot."

On his strengths and what he would like to improve : "My strengths are one-on-ones and acceleration. I would like to improve my heading and my weak foot."

On the type of person he is off the pitch : "I have a great passion for music. During my days I listen to music very often. I'm a very quiet guy, I like being with my family, with friends. In my free time I try to enjoy these moments, talking, chatting, laughing. These are simple things but for me they are fundamental because they help me to disconnect from the pitch".

On the first away match with Milan in Empoli : "They came to my friends' stadium. Now that I'm in Milan, however, my family is in Turin and is very close to me. They can't wait to come to San Siro to see me in the red and black shirt".

On Federico Guidi : "I have a wonderful memory of him because he gave me a hand when I arrived in Florence. He helped me fit in, settle in and was an important figure. From the first training sessions he believed a lot in my qualities. I had a fantastic year with him, reaching a Scudetto final with the Primavera, but I have an absolutely positive memory of mister Guidi" .
